Natalia Greene is an Ecuadorian climate change activist, grassroots organizer, and a central figure in the creation of Ecuador’s 2008 constitution, which specifically recognized the rights of nature as well as the role of civil society and indigenous people. She was also deeply involved in developing Ecuador’s remarkable Yasuní-ITT Initiative, which aimed to keep oil underground in the Amazon region.
